Why this exists

Along the way I saw how many bright students get filtered out of medicine and health science — not because they lack the ability, but because Biology was taught to them as a memorisation exercise instead of the fascinating, logical subject it actually is.”

DocDesk Academy exists because a WACE Biology tutor should be someone who has genuinely needed this content, not simply someone who did well in Year 12 recently. Knowing why the body behaves as it does is a different kind of knowledge from having revised it, and it is the kind that makes an explanation finally land.

• M.B.B.S. — Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery.

How she teaches

Every session is taught personally — there are no assistants and no handing students to a junior tutor. Sessions start from what the student actually does not understand, rather than from a fixed lesson plan, because the fastest route through a topic is usually the one that starts at the real blocker.

Explanations lead with mechanism. A student who understands why a feedback loop must be negative can reconstruct the detail under exam pressure; a student who memorised the diagram often cannot. Once the mechanism is in place, the session moves to marking-key technique: what the command term wants, and how to write it so the marks are easy to award.

The practical side

Dr. Singh teaches from New Delhi, and every class is scheduled in Perth time so families never convert anything. The coordination team handles scheduling, reminders and payments, which keeps lesson time as lesson time.

Classes are live and one-to-one, or shared with a friend or sibling at the same year level. Every session is recorded and available afterwards from the student’s own account.
